Today we: cycled through one-on-one conferences to assess the final comprehension of the Human Sexuality Unit in order to finalize marks. I am very happy with everyone's effort and retention, well done 5A!
In math, we quickly reviewed decimal place value and compared some decimals before diving into adding and subtracting decimals. Tomorrow we will do some more work on the adding and subtracting and do a check-in to see how everyone is doing.
After lunch, we began writing our fractured fairytale newspaper articles. The class was given an assortment of fairytales and other stories to peruse while making a plan for their article. We made lists of the 5 W's and how we can use those to make a plan for the story. As we progress, students will do peer edits and make a final draft printed from the computer and a picture to go along with it.
The learning commons was a busy adventure since Mr. Scout put a new puzzle on the table. While some searched for books, others renewed their chapter books and got to work on the puzzle. We ended the day finishing and marking the fill-in-the-blank on magnetism from yesterday and learning to read Wattage labels on electronic devices around the school.
