Today we: watched a documentary and reenactment of David Thompson and his journey to discover a passage through Canada, by boat, using the St. Lawrence River. He ran into many Indigenous people and he valued the company and knowledge of women on his journey.

Luckily, the rain wasn't pouring too heavily at both recess times for the grade 5's, so they went outside. We are planning to have Sports Day tomorrow so students should dress prepared for rain or shine! Bring a water bottle, sun screen, and good shoes for games in the field, compound and inside the gym. If it is raining too heavily, we have a plan for taking games inside but we still want students to be prepared. We want to give them the chance to really spread out and have fun, since this will be the first time the school can mingle as a whole!

After recess, Ms. G helped us rinse out our tie-dye shirts so they can be washed and dried before Monday. We also had the final interest projects presented; Zak told us a lot of fun facts about Volleyball, Dylan and Rehan both did some research on soccer, and Liam gave us a lot of new terms in science by showing us the intricacies of the Periodic Table!

We had hoped to do a math task on Minecraft at the end of the day, but some of the laptops were not cooperating so we just did review work with Kahoot on all subjects, like the regions of Canada, City of Ember, Zones of Regulation, and 2D/3D shapes.

Sports Day tomorrow is beach themed, so dress in your best summer get ups! See you tomorrow 5A!
