Today we: changed up the morning to just literacy games, math games, and partner reading. Being "Dress like your favorite book character" day for Literacy Week, we had many students dressed up, and I was amazed to see the amount of Harry Potter fans! I was dressed as Cho Chang, a Hogwarts student from Ravenclaw, and I brought some of my Harry Potter books from home, so the class enjoyed some partner reading with some extras from my collection.

In math, we explored more on volume by looking at shapes we could make with cubes. They were challenged with seeing if they could make different objects using the same amount of blocks. This is preparing them for understanding the concept of squared.

After lunch the class has music and P.E., but between those, we did a little more for our door decorating! After the Wellness Event tonight, we can finally start displaying our super amazing ideas, so stay tuned for tomorrow's blog pictures!

Tomorrow, the entire school will be doing a "Read Out" where we go outside to read our books in the lovely June weather at the same time. Since we returned our library books, we will likely be reading The City of Ember as a class outside.

For those of you coming to the Wellness Event tonight, I hope you have a wonderful time! See you tomorrow Grade Five.
